Michelle Rial’s Exhibition Opening & Artist Talk
May 13th | 6:00-8:00pm | Talk 7:00pm
Exhibition Runs May 13th – June 25th
Michelle Rial is an accomplished glass artist focusing primarily in fused and kiln formed glass. Her solo exhibition, Up Against The Wall!, will open on Friday May 13th from 6-8pm at Kennedy Galleries at Glass Axis and be on display through June 25th.
We are pleased to announce the Michelle Rial will be attending the opening gallery reception and doing an artist talk about the exhibition and her glass making processes. This is an opportunity that glassmakers and art fans alike won’t want to miss. Rial will speak near the halfway point of the exhibition opening.
The goal of Up Against The Wall! is to expand people’s thought about glass, from the table to the wall, and to give them another perspective on glass and art. Rial’s creations are inspired by nature, multi-layered, and textural artworks containing both single and multiple panel compositions, incorporating a variety of glass elements.
Here Rial is pictured with her creation Taiwan Lily which she created while abroad in Taiwan where she lectured and demonstrated her process. Rial then had the exciting opportunity to study alongside Taiwan’s master glassmakers while abroad, for 4 months, learning their techniques which are primarily installed on temples. She will be discussing these techniques and more during her artist talk at the opening reception of her exhibition from 6:00-8:00pm of Friday, May 13th.
