Erinn Bessler and Shawn Everette will be doing a collaborative piece. Combining her interest in cane patterning, and his interest in playful sculptures, they will be making a cane cowboy hat.
Shawn Everette began working with glass at Illinois State University in 2005 under the instruction of artists John Miller and Carmen Lozar. Experiences at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts, and Corning Museum of Glass helped to define the direction of his artistic endeavors. In 2012, he received his MFA at the University of Wisconsin- Madison working alongside Steve Feren, Lisa Koch, and Matthew Piepenbrock. He was a recent Artist-in-Residence at the Works, honing his artistic undertakings for the greater artistic world. He is currently the Glass Axis Facility Engineer.
Erinn Bessler is a CCAD graduate who has been working with glass for 8 years. She explores cane patterning in bowls. She has studied glassblowing at Pilchuck, Penland School of Crafts, Corning Museum of Glass, Toledo Museum of Art and Pittsburgh Glass Center. She is currently an instructor at Glass Axis.
