Jeremy Burdge has been blowing glass for 15 years. He operates his own studio in Columbus, OH, and has studied at The Studio with Bill Gudenrath, Fritz Dreisbach, Davide Fuin, Elio Quarisa, and Paul Stankard. His particular interests are English and Italian goblet forms, and as a teacher he enjoys helping students become as addicted to hot glass as he is.
Combining Lamp, Kiln and Furnace-Worked Glass
In this class, you’ll begin with a demonstration of pulling cane at the furnace in the hot shop. Then, you’ll take the furnace cane into the lampworking studio and learn to pull it into leaves, flowers and other decorative elements. You’ll also learn about glass cutting and fusing as we assemble, layer, and fire these elements together to make jewelry and other small projects.
Basic fusing and lampworking principals will be discussed. Class is Nov 14 and 15 from noon to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. No glassworking experience is required, though any hot glass experience is helpful; experienced students are welcome.
