  • Glass Axis & The Jubilee Museum Stained Glass Collaboration: Workshop & Tour

Do you love stained glass?  Have you always wanted to know how to make one of your own?  Please join Glass Axis on October 16 from 6-9 p.m. for a special Stained Glass Class in collaboration with The Jubilee Museum.  Pair this class with a tour of the stained glass exhibition “Illuminating Our Faith” at the Museum for a truly wondrous experience!

The Jubilee Museum and Catholic Cultural Center is the largest museum of diversified Catholic art and artifacts in the United States.  From September 19 through November 15, the Museum is hosting “Illuminating our Faith,” a stained glass windows exhibition. The exhibition is available M-F 10-5, Sat 11-3, and Sun 1-3.  Guided tours are available at 1 p.m. (and highly recommended by Glass Axis).  A suggested donation of $10 per person for the tour of Jubilee Museum is greatly appreciated.  The museum is located just up the street from Glass Axis at 57 South Grubb St.

On October 16 at Glass Axis, you will come to appreciate these beautiful stained glass windows even more when you try your hand at creating your own stained glass star or heart.   In this quick, fun class, you’ll choose from our beautifully colored selection of glass to customize our heart or star-shaped pattern. You will work with an artist to grind, shape and foil your pre-cut glass pieces and solder them together. This is a great first experience to see what stained glass is all about. Your final piece will be a simple, beautiful window that you can take home that day.  Cost of class is $85 per person.  Check class availability and register at https://glassaxis.org/product/jubilee/

Glass Axis is a non-profit glass art center dedicated to making and learning.

Our new 12,700 sq. ft. art center provides artists, students, and community members the tools necessary to passionately create innovative works in glass while learning, sharing, and teaching. Member artists have access to affordable glass blowing, glass fusing, torch working, cold working, stained glass and neon facilities, plus studio, exhibition, education, outreach, and income-producing opportunities all under one roof. By linking artists to the thousands of patrons that visit the art center each year for courses, demonstrations, exhibitions, and special events, Glass Axis becomes a civic hub of art production and community participation, bolstering sustainable cultural equity throughout Ohio and beyond.
