Franklinton Fridays June 9th

Franklinton Fridays occur the second Friday of every month, this month it is June 9th. Franklinton Fridays is a gallery hop through the Franklinton Art District. Franklinton Fridays is a neighborhood wide celebration of art, science, and community. This is a unique entertainment experience that includes art, theatre, and science exhibits. Glass Axis will be featuring a glassblowing demonstration by Jacci Delaney and music from the Suzuki Music Institute. The Suzuki Music Institute is a music school where children learn how to play string instruments through a specific and special study program. When they play at Glass Axis the students will play from 6-7 and the instructors will play from 7-8.
Jacci Delaney graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BFA specialization in glass in 2008 and then attended The Ohio State University and received her MFA in 2014. In 2015, she was received the Emerging Artist Award from the Glass Art Society and currently teaches glass at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
You can also check out the gallery show Fantastical Creatures. The inspiration for the pieces in this show came from artwork submitted by elementary school students in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Glass Axis received many submissions from St. Brenden, New Albany, Columbus Prepatory Academy, and Winchester Trail elementary only 11 were selected to be made into three dimensional glass art sculptures.
Glass Axis will be open for Franklinton Fridays on June 9th from 6-8 P.M.
