Mini Vitro Gallery Exhibition
Glass Axis, a non-profit glass art center, is pleased to announce the opening reception and exhibition of “Mini-Vitro.” Opening reception for this show of miniature glass work will be on March 9th 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm which coincides with Franklinton Fridays in East Franklinton. The exhibition will be on display through April 28th. Various glass techniques will be represented to include layered glass painting, flameworking, and hot sculpted glass. All pieces are no bigger than 8″ in any direction. Best of all they all have miniature pricing, no piece will exceed $250!
Normal Gallery Hours: Tuesdays-Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-7pm, and Saturdays 11am-4pm.
In addition to the opening of Mini Vitro on March 9th, there will be a glassblowing demonstration by visiting artist Alison Chism. This demonstration will also start at 6:00pm. Alison Chism has been making art since she was 7 and blowing glass for over two decades. She holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University and an M.F.A from The Ohio State University in Glass Art. In addition, she has spent nearly ten years in Seattle, WA as a professional artist, glassblowing assistant, and staff member at Pilchuck Glass School. Assistant Professor at Salisbury University from 2006-2013, Alison currently works as an artist and freelance instructor of 2-D and 3-D art.
