Japanese glass artists Daisuke Takatomi/高臣大介 and Keiko Iwamatsu/岩松敬子 present Poetry in Glass at Glass Axis from November 10-30 2017. On Nov 10 at 6:00pm, the artists will also show their unique techniques in a free demonstration and exhibition sponsored by Japan- American Society of Central Ohio (JASCO).

About the Artists:
Based out of Towa Lake, Hokkaido, Japan emerging glass artist, Daisuke Takatomi creates pure glass art known for its distinctive streamlined shape. His unique style gracefully resembles constant water flow or frozen stream, seizing upon the beauty of nature.
Takatomi is a graduate of Tokyo Glass Art Institute, Advanced Program and is the owner of Atelier and Gallery – gla_gla. In addition to his art work at traditional museums and galleries such as Hokkaido Modern Art Museum(2013), Takatomi has participated in many collaborations including projects with renowned architect, Kengo Kuma & Associates, Sapporo Beer, Co., and a movie “Shiawase no pan.” Many galleries and major department stores have hosted his exhibitions throughout Japan.
Keiko Iwamatsu is the artist/designer of usapi- a jewelry brand created in collaboration with Takatomi. Iwamatsu’s design starts with inspiration from Takatomi’s free-form blown glass artwork. Each piece of jewelry is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Iwamatsu started her natural gem stone jewelry line in 2008. Since 2013, she has been collaborating with Takatomi under usapi brand. Her work is sold online stores in Osaka, Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Major department stores and galleries in Japan also hosted usapi collection. In recent years, her work was featured at Space EDGE(Tokyo) and in 2017, she was invited to showcase usapi at major jewelry expo in Paris, France, called Maison & Objet Paris.
