Neon I
Great beginning class for students interested in Neon work. Students learn basic neon working techniques including bending and welding, basic wiring, pattern making, and observe the pumping and energizing process. Each student will produce a simple neon tube project of their design. Instructor: Phillip Radke. $375 for 15 hours instruction.
Sundays, 10 am to 1 pm
Neon II Students will take their beginning skills to the next level, learning how to bend curves and circles, create larger projects, and work with color tubes. Students will also learn more about bombarding and advanced patterns. Each student will produce an intermediate neon tube project of their design with the possibility of incorporating hot shop forms. $375 for 15 hours instruction.

Torchworking I: Beginning Bead Making
Students will learn the techniques involved in making torchworked beads, including basic bead shapes, tooling, dot application, and stringers. A great way to create glass art without the heat of the furnace! $180 for 9 hours instruction, or $240 for 12 hours instruction.

Torchworking II: Intermediate Bead Making
Students have the opportunity to practice their bead techniques, focusing on precision and detailing. Goldstone and Mother-of-Pearl powders will be covered, as well as non-traditional bead shapes. Torchworking I, or equivalent experience required. $120 for 6 hours of instruction, or $180 for 9 hours of instruction.

Murrini with Hannah Rosner
This traditional Venetian technique gets its name from the Italian for ‘thousand flowers’. Molds and cane are used to pull sticks of glass, which when cut into slices, reveal beautiful floral designs. This torchworking class will cover several types of murrini pulls while focusing on strengthening basic skills. Students will learn to create a variety of murrini and incorporate it into glass beads. Beginning, intermediate and advanced students welcome. $200 for 10 hours of instruction.

This six-hour course introduces students to techniques to fuse colored glass creations in a kiln and offers tips on using color, forming patterns, and more. Students will complete several pieces of their own design using various forms of glass (powder, frit, stringers, and flat glass) as they develop fundamental fusing skills. $120 for 6 hours of instruction.

Kilnworking: All You Ever Needed to Know About Fusing, Slumping and Pate de Verre
This class teaches fusing techniques with preformed sheets of glass and frit, powder, and stringers; slumping sheets into three dimensional shapes such as bowls and dishes; and using frits and powders to explore pate de verre techniques. Repeat the course for additional instruction and advanced techniques: fused blocks and decals. Upon completion of this course, students will have the training to rent kilns for their own projects. $255 for 12 hours of instruction.

This two day class provides an in-depth look at decal applications in kilnformed glass (and blown glass!) Use your small drawings and photographs to create colorful kiln-fired glass artworks. Projects may include earrings, pendants, magnets, belt buckles, buttons, you name it! The instructor fuses your artwork in a kiln for the final step. Previous glass experience recommended. $140 for 6 hours of instruction.

Kiln Casting I
This class offers an overview of the kiln casting process, from developing an idea to creating a finished solid three- dimensional piece. Students learn cast glass applications, from what is possible with plate glass and basic relief molds through a three-dimensional form. Explore the lost wax process and basic mold making techniques, culminating in a textured three-dimensional bowl form. $200 for 12 hours instruction.

Kiln Casting II: Special Focus, Imagery in Thick Blocks
This class builds on Kiln Casting I and Kilnforming class skills, developing ideas from sketches to finished work. Students practice calculations to make work with fused imagery in thick blocks, discuss various kinds of molds, and learn formulas for kiln casting firing schedules. Having completed this class, students may rent kiln time in the Studio and create work on their own. $200 for 12 hours instruction.
